Leigh
Stevenson became interested in
performing at the age of eight when he
landed his first main role as the Cowardly
Lion in his school production of The Wizard
of Oz. He then went on to a Weekly Stage
School (The Pinner Theatre Stage School).
From here he was signed up to the Stella
Greenfield Casting Agency in Edgware,
Middlesex and did a few commercials (Clarks
Shoes and British Airways)
Leigh went on to study GCSE Drama and A
Level Theatre Studies at Greenfield College
in Harrow, Middlesex and have spent a long
time gaining as much performing experience
as he could with local Youth Theatre and
Amateur groups in London, Hertfordshire and
Essex. He has also become known locally as a
Director and Musical Director. Leigh has
written two original musicals and had one of
them performed at the Stables Theatre in
Wavendon, where he was the Artistic Director
for the National Youth Music Camps for three
years.
Leigh Stevenson trained on the three year BA
Acting Course at Central School of Speech
and Drama from 1992-1995 and did a few TIE
shows with 'NW5 TIE Company'. He worked for
five years as the Course Co-ordinator of the
Musical Theatre Course at the Arts
Educational School in Tring from Sept 1999 -
July 2004. Whilst here he taught Guildhall
Drama and LAMDA Musical Theatre
examinations. Leigh also coached students in
Musical Theatre performance and Drama.
